Olga Burkard
Artist Statement
I’m interested in the systems that shape life—how forms repeat, shift, and grow. My work explores these patterns through both digital and traditional painting processes.
I usually begin with a single shape and let it guide me. Through repetition and layering, I build abstract compositions—like ecosystems, wings, seeds, or microscopic life. Although much of my recent work is digital, I draw by hand, slowly and intentionally. I also create hybrid pieces using paint, collage, and drawing, and have recently returned to purely painted works on paper.
Each piece is my way of paying attention. I follow what feels right and let the work unfold. It’s how I reflect on what connects us—to nature, to each other, and to everything alive.

Olga Burkard
Bio
Born and raised in Mexico and now based in Geneva, Olga Burkard creates abstract compositions using both digital and traditional materials. Her work explores living forms and the expressive power of shape—often starting from a single hand-drawn line. Through digital drawing, hybrid techniques, and purely painted works on paper, she reflects on organic structures, rhythm, and emotional connection.
Trained in graphic design, she studied at the Ibero-American University in Mexico City and completed a postgraduate program at the Schule für Gestaltung Basel. Before fully dedicating herself to art, Olga had a long international career in design and art direction.
Since early 2024, she has focused on her art practice full-time—drawing daily as a way of observing, exploring, and staying connected to the world around her. Her work is represented by Mabe Gallery in Geneva and is held in private collections in over ten countries.
